Introduction
This article has the main objective of explaining the aging period definitions configuration to be selected on the customer or vendor aging reports and how to setup the aging report parameters.
Quick Summary
The below topics are discussed in this article:
Aging period definitions (form)
Aging period definitions are used to analyze the maturity of customer accounts and vendor accounts, based on a date that you enter. Each aging period that you set up for the aging period definition corresponds to a column on the list page or in the form or report when the analysis is performed. (Credit and collections > setup > aging period definitions or Accounts payable > setup > aging period definitions)
Notice that if the aging period definition includes more than six lines, the user cannot select the configuration on reports.
To set up an aging period definition for 30-60-90 days the following configurations are recommended:

In the Unit field the number can be positive, negative, or 0 (zero).
- The zero value identifies the column that represents the current interval, which can be, for example, a day or week. You must enter one zero-unit line for each aging period definition that you set up.
- A positive value represents the future. For a positive interval unit, the starting date of the interval always is the date that follows the previous aging period.
- A negative value represents the past, relative to the zero aging period. For a negative interval unit, the ending date of the interval is the day before the next aging period.
